Bentianna

MY STORY

La Belle Epoque

Bentianna was born in the inter-war period, full of new ideas, joy and inspirations. In the period which can really be called the golden era, in the 'Art Deco' era. The recipe, based on the use of gentian and discovered by Benedictine monks as early as in the 15th century, defined this original beverage. This is where Bentianna finds its name created by joining BEN, meaning Benedictine and TIANNA, from the Latin name of gentian – Gentiana Lutea. It was rediscovered at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s, unfortunately just for a short time.

Millenium

As if symbolically at the turn of the millennium, Joseph Benji Benian, the father of Bentianna, discovers the 'strings' leading to this precious recipe based on the study of family sources and period documents. After more than thirty years it is necessary to go through a huge amount of archives and references. However, this effort is crowned with success in the end. By following in original plans of his grandfather, Joseph Benji Benian succeeded in discovering the original recipe of Bentianna from 1929.

Worldtianna

Two times lost and rediscovered. Bentianna is ready to conquer the world. The formation of the sales network in Europe has been started, with a gradual expansion into North and South America. Bentianna has started its 'Beautiful Epoch - La Belle Epoque'.

Bentianna is leaving...

With the onset of WWII, Bentianna disappears. Later on, it appears for a short period of time in the form of a beverage and recipe, bestowing smiles and inspiring. New plans are conceived early in the 1960s aimed at reviving the original brand by the grandfather of Joseph Benji Benian. The new wave also finds its expression in the social and cultural life, but 1968 comes and dark times are dawning in the home country of Bentianna. Occupation forces and nationalization end the life of Bentianna for many years.

NEW BIRTH

The original recipe as well as the legacy of 'La Belle Epoque' as preserved in the very style and presentation of Bentianna pays tribute to this stunning era which brought an original beverage to the world. The first bottles with the painting by the academic painter Jozef Cesnak leave the manufactory and are bound for satisfied customers all over Europe.
